Hop-a-Long Children’s Centre, is a Sure Start Centre run by Action for Children. They offer services and activities for families and carers with children aged 0-5 living in Hedge End St John's and Botley. They offer a variety of activities at the Centre and out in the community and can also provide support to other groups within the community and home visits where appropriate. Parent Voice is a Hampshire wide network of parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs aged 0-19. Parent Voice provides local information and advice through its weekly updates, newsletter, website and Parent Participation Officers. To find the website click here.
Many children experience difficulties with learning to speak clearly and often parents are stuck with how to help them. Fiona Ashford is a private pediatric speech therapist with many years experience, she is happy to liaise with the pre school or opportunity group to put in place a program that can help your child with whatever speech difficulty they may have, no matter how mild or severe. Register for a Gateway Card for free and you can get access to activities, play schemes and buddy schemes available to children and young people who have disabilities and/or additional needs. The is available through Hampshire County Council short breaks programme. Click here to register.

Running for Wildern Opportunity Group
For this Academic year Southampton Ford Motor Company Body Construction department has adopted Wildern Opportunity Group as their departmental charity.
As part of their fundraising efforts Short Wheel Base employee Steve Smeeth will be running the Gosport Half Marathon on 20th November 2011 to support our Group.
